We’ve been invited by Redeemer Anglican Church to participate in a city-wide hymn sing on Friday, August 5, at 7:00PM. This is a great opportunity to put into practice the affirmation we make in the Apostles’ Creed: “we believe in the holy catholic church [that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places].” We believe and want to exhibit a unified church in Asheville. The event will be held in the Grace Baptist Church sanctuary in West Asheville (718 Haywood Rd, 28806). Hang around for gelato and coffee (for purchase) after the event.
Please join us this Sunday afternoon at 5 PM at the Albees’ house for Taco Nite (email firstname.lastname@example.org for address). Meat and taco shells will be provided. Please bring additional items according to the first letter of your last name:
A-G Toppings (tomatoes, shredded lettuce, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, etc.)
H-O Mexican side dish

Come before 5 PM and enjoy activities like basketball, volleyball, biking (pump track), walking trails, horseshoes, cornhole and there’s even a frisbee golf course. We have 3 grills and could possibly use 2 more. Please e-mail or call Pam Harris (firstname.lastname@example.org or 704-880-1946) if you can bring a grill.
Our annual dinner celebration is scheduled for May 22, 5–7 PM at Homewood. The purpose of the party is to enjoy good food and fellowship, rejoice in what the Lord is doing in and through City Church, to cast a vision for the future, and provide an update on the state of the church. This is a very important gathering and we hope you’ll be able to attend. Members and regular visitors of City Church are welcome.
Please note: City Church will provide a catered meal and drinks. Childcare will also be provided.
The women of City Church are starting an in-depth Bible study on Wednesday nights at Amanda Johnson’s house (43 Lowell St., 28803) from 8:00-9:30 PM. This is a great opportunity to study the Bible, grow in God’s grace, and fellowship with other women. The study will begin promptly at 8:00, so please make every effort to arrive on time. The study will be based on The Gospel-Centered Life, the same study the men recently completed.
If you have any questions, please contact Kristi James (email@example.com).
