WAYS TO GIVE

General Fund

City Church of Asheville’s operational budget is supported by the general fund. The main categories that fall within the operational budget are administration, facilities, missions & outreach, worship, and ministry (which includes all discipleship ministry departments). Our budgeted missions gifts support the following:

Benevolence Fund

As part of our mission to embody the compassion of Christ, City Church of Asheville has established a Benevolence Fund dedicated to helping those in our congregation and community experiencing physical or financial hardship. The fund is overseen by the Diaconate and guided by practices seen in the early church (Acts 2:44-47; Acts 4:32-35) and by the call from biblical teaching (Philippians 4:10-16; II Thessalonians 3:4-5; I Timothy 5:3-16; James 2:15-26). Through the Benevolence Fund, we seek to offer thoughtful support that reflects both the generosity and wisdom of the gospel and draws us into deeper community.

“Now all the believers were together and held all things in common. They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as any had need. Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.”

— Acts 2:44-47

Missions Fund

City Church of Asheville, in the exercise of its religious and charitable purposes, has established a Missions Fund to further Jesus’s call to, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” —Matthew 28:19-20.

The Missions Fund will be used exclusively to support mission work near and abroad. The church may provide one-time gifts and longer-term support.
